Award winning Free range bronze turkeys, traditionally reared by Will Sheffield and his family on Meadowbrook, East Sussex.
They practice an ‘off grid’ approach to farming, with all electricity and water harvested from the farm itself, meaning the site is fully sustainable and has a lower environmental impact. The use of solar panels and a well situated on the farm means they are fully self sufficient.
The Turkeys are encouraged to forage naturally on herb rich pastures and are fed a complete ration of cereals, natural oils and protein crops. Slowly matured over 6 months without the need for growth promotors. No surprise that these healthy birds are repeat winners as “Champion Turkey” at the South East Marts Winter Fayre and prize winners at Ashford Christmas Fat Stock show.
The boneless breasts are covered with streaky bacon and can be bought with or without stuffing. The sizes available are as below – all are priced at £20 per kg:
Small (approximately 11/2 kg or 2kg with stuffing ie 6 servings)
Medium (approximately 3 kg or 31/2 kg with stuffing ie 10 servings)
Large (approximately 5 kg or 51/2 kg with stuffing ie 14 servings)
As these turkeys are sold by weight they are not offered online. Please e-mail us on info@greenergreens.com if you would like one letting us know the size you require and whether stuffing should be included or not.
